This Privacy Policy describes the privacy practices of EVOL (“EVOL”) , a product operated by LOVELAB LIMITED (the “Company”, “us”, “our”, or “we”), a company registered in Hong Kong (Company number 3036634), with respect to your information collected, stored, disclosed and used by LOVELAB LIMITED, through our Services (as defined in the Terms and Conditions).  The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions.

 

Your use of our Services is subject to this Privacy Policy and the applicable Terms and Conditions. By using our Services, you are accepting the practices set out in this Privacy Policy and the applicable Terms and Conditions of Services.

 

The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Services. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy or as required by any applicable laws and regulations.

 

Personal Information Collection

To provide our Services, we collect information about you that, alone or in combination with other information, which may be used to identify you as an individual (“personal information”).  The type of personal information we collect and process depends on how and why you interact with us.

 

• Personal Information You Provide. When you register for an Account or subscribe to any of our Services, we may collect a variety of information about you, which includes but not limited to your name, gender, date of birth, ethnicity, education, height, occupation, preferences, and contact information such as email address, contact number, mailing address, etc. When you sign up for our Services, you will provide us with responses to our value and personality questionnaire (“Profile Survey”), which will be applied to build a personality profile for you and to match you with other compatible singles according to our protocol. You will also upload your photos which, depending on your choice, may contain personal information. By providing us your information, responses, and photos, you agree that we may make them available to third-party or other users of our Services if considered appropriate as described in this Privacy Policy.
  
  We use information that we collect from you or that you provided to us, including any personal information, to:

  • Provide and develop our Services;

  • Apply in and enhance our matching algorithm; 

  • Establish and manage User Account, such as your “My EVOL Profile”;

  • Display the public fields of your profile to other users for matching purpose, including but not limited to user name, demographics, photos, videos, and other profile content (e.g., compatibility profile);

  • Provide customer support, troubleshoot issues, and respond to requests, questions, and comments;

  • Process payment and transactions;

  • Communicate with you about our Services, including order confirmation, subscription renewal processing, enquiry support, chats notification, new matches notification, service updates, announcements and administrative messages (for which you may choose to opt-out, as the case may be);

  • Communicate with you regarding promotions, including but not limited to newsletters, new product offerings, special discounts, event notifications, special third-party offers;

  • Conduct market and consumer research and trend analyses;

  • Enable posting on our social media, blogs, forums, and other public communications, in which no personal information identifiable to a particular user would be published;

  • Perform accounting, auditing, billing, reconciliation, and collection activities;

  • Prevent, detect, identify, investigate, and respond to potential or actual claims, liabilities, prohibited behavior, and criminal activity;

  • Comply with and enforce legal requirements, agreements, and policies, and/or any Court orders;

  • Achieve purposes for which we provide specific notice at the time of collection and/or obtain your consent; and

  • For any other purpose incidental to and/or appropriate for operation of our Services.

In addition to the uses outlined above, by accessing or using our Services, you agree to allow us to anonymously use the information from you and your experiences to continue our research into relationship satisfaction and/or our business developments.  These research, conducted by psychologists, data scientists and/or other appropriate professionals may be published in academic journals, commercial commentary, media or otherwise.  However, all of your responses will be kept anonymous, and no identifiable personal information will be disclosed.

 

• Sensitive Information. During the registration process and while updating your profile, you may provide us with personal information that is considered “sensitive” in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to, religious beliefs, ethnicity and political views. By providing this information, you agree to EVOL’s storing, processing, and use of such data for the purposes stated above.  You may update your information by accessing your profile at any time or select the “Prefer not to specify” or “Others” option (if applicable) in response to any questions requesting such information.  You should be careful what information to be shared as they are at your own risks. The information will be shown in your profile visible to third-party (e.g. other users).

 

• Profile Survey. During the registration process and while completing your profile, you will be asked to complete the Profile Survey on your Values and Personality. The questions are compulsory for creating an Account with us and you may not change these responses afterwards.  The analysis to your responses at the Profile Survey will be shown in your profile and visible to third-party (e.g. other users). • Feedbacks. We welcome feedbacks from users and may periodically conduct voluntary surveys for the improvement of our Services. You may volunteer for certain surveys that we may offer to our users, and any additional rules applicable for those surveys will be disclosed to you prior to your participation. All survey responses are anonymous and will not link to any personal information.  You may also give anonymous feedbacks to other users you have matched, where all responses will be aggregated and reflected to the users for their own reference.

 

• Personal Information We Automatically Collect. When you access or use our Services, we automatically collect information about how you access and use our Services. The information we collect includes but is not limited to your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks. If you use a mobile device to access or download any of our Services, we may also collect device information (such as your mobile device ID, model and manufacturer), operating system, and version information. While this information taken together could be considered personal information, we do not use this information to personally identify you. We use this information in the aggregate for our business needs, including, without limitation, data and trends analysis, Services administration, and customer-experience enhancement, to understand how users interact with our Services, and gather information to tailor our users’ experience, show users content that we think they might be interested in, and/or to display the content according to their preferences. The information will be retained by us and used as described in this privacy policy.

 

• Log Data. Whenever you use our Service, in the case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.  Log data will be retained by us and used as described in this privacy policy.

 

• Cookies.  Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.  The app may use third-party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use the Service to its full extent.

 

Access by other users

Personal information, including sensitive information as elaborated above, provided in your profile will be accessible by other users.

 

We shall not disclose your contact information.  We prohibit inclusion of contact information in user profiles.  However, we accept no liability if you disclose your contact information in your user profile which becomes accessible by other users.

 

Our analysis on your profile survey will also be accessible by other users.

 

Access by third party service providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:

• To facilitate our Service;

• To provide the Service on our behalf;

• To perform Service-related services;

• To assist us in analysing how our Service is used;

• To assist us in analysing how to improve our Service; or

• For any other purpose incidental to and/or appropriate for operation of our Services.

These third parties have access to users’ Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

We may store information in a combination of electronic storage facilities, paper-based files and other means.  While we cannot guarantee your personal information is completely secure at all times, we have administrative, organisational, technical, and physical security measures in place to help protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information collected and processed. These measures include the use of firewalls, digital certificates, Security Socket Layer (SSL) and encryption technology during credit card transactions and administrative access to site data, as well as other proprietary security measures which are applied to all repositories and transfers of user information.

Our Services may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to external sites which are not operated by us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the use, the contents, the practices and policies (including privacy policies) of any third-party sites or services. We strongly advise you to read all applicable terms and conditions of any external websites before you decide whether to access such websites.

Retention and Storage of Your Personal Information

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was collected and to comply with applicable laws, and your consent (if any and only if applicable) to such purpose(s) remains valid after termination of your relationship with us. Except for information required for accounting, auditing or record-keeping purposes, we will automatically delete your personal information after 24 months of inactivity (defined as consecutively 24 months without any successful login to your Account), unless we consider appropriate and necessary to retain such information for a longer period.

 

Your personal information may be processed and stored outside of the jurisdiction or country in which you reside by us, an affiliate or an unaffiliated service provider for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy and, under the laws of these other jurisdictions, in certain circumstances foreign courts, law enforcement agencies or regulatory agencies may be entitled to access your personal information.

Access, Correction and Deletion

Personal information you provide in your profile may be accessed and corrected in EVOL.  If support is required, you may contact us via support@evoltheapp.com.

 

To delete your account, you may follow the procedures in “EVOL > Settings > My Account > Delete my Account”.  Upon deletion, all information shall be deleted except for information required for accounting, auditing or record-keeping purposes, unless we consider appropriate and necessary to retain such information for a longer period.  If support is required, you may contact us via support@evoltheapp.com.

Age Restriction

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 years of age. In the case we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we reserve the right to immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us via report@evoltheapp.com so that we will be able to take necessary actions.

 

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This policy is effective as of 2021-12-18

 

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time, so please review from time to time. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you here, or by other means, such as e-mail, at our discretion. Your continued use of any portion of our Services following the posting of the updated Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of the changes.
